Hidden in Plain Sight

On drugs at 12,
ODed at 25,
his photo's hidden
in plain sight
on the floor,
under a window,
in front of a
small mirror.
She thanks us
for giving her tears
a place to be seen.

  1. heavy man...a hard life to have drugs get their hooks in you...altogether harder to watch someone you love...

  2. The shifting of seen and unseen is perfect for the topic. It demands facing the question of what is really known. Thank you for your visit and comment on my Thanksgiving post.

  4. Sad but it happens! Drugs in all its forms are lethal. It certainly brings tears who have to face them.

  6. Sad to hear another fell to the fleeting effects of drugs. Tears are what lubricate the soul I've heard it said.

  7. bang. I like the directness and relative unemotional tone of this piece; it packs a harder punch. Slush is one sure way to kill a poem. Real life. Real grit. Like it a lot.
