<woman>

<woman>
 </her>
 </she>
 </them>
   <image>
    </mother>
    </sister>
    </other>
      being born
      Into nothing
      You carved
      Me formless
      Yet squawking
      For a shape
      And direction
       <you>
        Seeking me
        In all I am

        Want
        Desire
        Loss
        Am not
         <me>
          Seeking you
          For all you are
          Have been
          Will be
          In loss
          And desire
            <fragment>
               Lost from
               Impelled

               Towards
               Oneness
               Nothingness
                <life>
                  Full with
                  Longing
                  Empty
                  Of signs
                  Conscious
                  Of nothing
                   <death>
                    Unknowable
                    Limit
                    Of all
                    That is
                    Defining
                    Nothing
             </death>
           </life>
         </fragment>
       </me>
     </you>

  1. Art and poem fit so well together..as if they were born together...for some reason this poem, it's form, it's style brings to mind a Rosetta Stone...code for woman..and what she means to man...does that make sense to you? I love the form !

  2. between mystery and monstrosity, mankind has always looked for symbols and surrenders that match our proximities and longings, season after season, beneath the stars...I like this one...and I agree with Emerald, Rosetta Stone for sure...

  3. very interesting form here and i love how you interprete the painting as well.. carved formless yet squawking for direction...full..and empty...there's much open space to fill between the lines...

  4. I like the way this is brought full circle and the form is aesthetically interesting as well as the interpretation of the art... this is so full of self examination and humanity... well done!

  5. really interesting charles...i think i was most struck by the carving and squalking for form...direction...unknowable limit of all defining all/nothing as well in the end is a nice contrast of this...i wasnt sure if you were addressing a mother...or a god

  7. Fascinating form.. like html code, but perfectly logical...and the closing where you bring it to full circle.

  10. hey chaz

    much excitement on entry. I have written some stuff on the psychology of de kooning etc and have turned over his work much, so I was interested to see where you went and I see you are pushing forward with the experimental shapes of last week. it really leaves an impression in rapid fire digestion and elongates with consideration . . . I too was trapped by

    Seeking you
    For all you are
    Have been
    Will be
    In loss
    And desire

    cheers chaz

  12. This one seems very spiritual and there is so much meaning packed into so few words. Love the form, too.

  13. I see the form again, weaving like a strand, from life to death ~ This is an interesting response to the painting ~

    Have a lovely day Charles ~
